Hello, RadKat family! We’re super excited to share that we’ll be showcasing our work at the Jax Book Fest this Saturday, September 20th, from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM at the Main Public Library in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.
This year, we’re shining a spotlight on the children’s books I had the honor of illustrating for the amazing author Marla McKenna. These books are all about inspiring young minds to think positively, build their self-esteem, and embrace their creativity. At RadKat, we believe in fostering a healthy mindset through a fun, active lifestyle—surfing, skating, and creating. It’s all about empowering kids to express themselves and feel confident while having a blast doing it. Surf. Skate. Create.
If you’re in the area, come by and check out the vibrant, playful illustrations that bring Marla’s stories to life. These books are designed not only to entertain but to inspire kids to dream big, think positive, and develop a strong sense of self-worth.

Even though Marla McKenna won’t be attending, I’ll be there to talk about the creative process behind the books and how we’re using stories to promote positive thinking and self-esteem in kids. Plus, we’ll have a ton of other exciting things happening at the festival, from author meet-and-greets to book signings and more.
Whether you’re a parent, educator, or just someone who loves inspiring stories and beautiful art, this is the event for you!
RadKat’s Mission: Surf. Skate. Create.
At RadKat, we believe in the power of positivity and creativity to shape the next generation. Through our books, we aim to help children develop confidence and resilience, all while tapping into the fun, adventurous spirit of surf and skate culture. Whether it’s riding the waves or rolling down the street on a skateboard, we want kids to embrace their own unique talents and express themselves in healthy, exciting ways.

Spotlight: “I’m A Secret Superhero” – Building Confidence One Page at a Time “I’m A Secret Superhero” is a heartwarming picture book that reminds kids their superpower might be something invisible — like kindness, compassion, or love. Illustrated by RadKat’s Brenda Kato, the book showcases a diverse cast of characters, helping kids see themselves as heroes in their own lives. Each character has a special talent — from baking and singing to farming and skating — and the story encourages readers to discover what makes them shine. We’ll have copies available at DCAZ this Saturday and in our online shop soon!
